Jonathan is a partner in KBR’s New York City office. His practice areas include Medical Malpractice Defense, Skilled Nursing and Aging Services, Products Liability Defense, and General Liability. He represents hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other allied medical professionals in civil litigation matters through trials in state and federal courts in New York. In addition to the representation of licensed professionals in medical malpractice and other professional liability claims, he has represented physicians and other medical professionals in disciplinary actions before the New York State Department of Health, Office of Professional Medical Conduct, and the New York State Department of Education, Office of Professional Discipline.
Jonathan also advises hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other allied medical professionals on new developments in healthcare law and effective risk management strategies. Jonathan engages with such healthcare providers to minimize risks and allow them to achieve their long-range goals.
Jonathan has particular experience in the defense of mental health providers and has lectured extensively in this area. He has also given numerous presentations on the litigation of complex medical malpractice matters and a variety of risk management and confidentiality issues for a wide range of health professionals and healthcare organizations. He has also served as an instructor for the Cornell Sloan Program in Health Administration, teaching the “Health Law for Managers” course over several semesters.
He is a former President of The Association for Healthcare Risk Management of New York (AHRMNY), the current Vice President of the New York State Malpractice Defense Bar and a member of the New York State Bar Health Law Section. This year, Jonathan was awarded “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants in the NYC region.
