Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan LLP was founded in 1997 by a group of experienced and nationally-recognized defense attorneys dedicated to providing the highest quality legal services to domestic and international clients. The firm has grown steadily since its inception and now has over 130 attorneys practicing out of nine offices in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and California. This growth is a direct result of our reputation for excellence and our innovative, responsive attention to our client’s needs.

Client-Focused Strategy

We measure success by the satisfaction of our clients both in our courtroom outcomes and in successfully non-litigated case resolutions. The firm’s central mission is to provide superb, cost-effective, and practical legal services tailored to the needs of each and every client. We are renowned for the effective communication and attention our clients receive.

The defense of professionals and businesses is a hallmark of our practice. Our attorneys are tough, seasoned litigators who know how to achieve success on trial, at arbitration or mediation, or when negotiating a settlement. We have long-standing positive relationships with judges, experts, and our adversaries, and have successfully tried cases before countless numbers of juries.

Practical, Resolution-Oriented Approach

Our success in litigation management is a result of our practical, resolution-oriented approach. We proactively manage the legal process with anticipation, early evaluation, and analysis of all the options and alternatives. Should litigation be the necessary course of action, the clients can expect answers to their questions:

  • What is this going to cost?
  • How will the case be staffed?
  • How long will it take to get to trial?
  • What can be done to resolve the matter short of trial?
  • What are the alternatives to trial?

Effective Teamwork

We utilize highly skilled paraprofessionals and staff, often with specific areas of expertise. Our medical malpractice team, for example, engages skilled nurses with decades of hospital, emergency room and nursing home experience. For insurance cases, we employ experienced claims analysts and litigation paralegals. These individuals can work hand-in-hand with the attorneys in evaluating and pinpointing the strengths and weaknesses of cases.

KBR Law delivers a team-oriented environment where its attorneys can achieve the highest levels of excellence in the profession, guided by sound judgment and unrivaled skill.
